We're excited to announce that our community's Little Library is officially up and running at the corner of Canterberry and Scarlet Oak! If you haven't discovered this charming addition to our neighborhood yet, here's everything you need to know.
What is a Little Library?
Little Libraries are small, weather-protected boxes filled with books that are free for anyone in the community to borrow, exchange, or donate. The concept is simple and beautiful: take a book, share a book, and help foster a love of reading throughout our neighborhood. Whether you're looking for your next great read or have books gathering dust on your shelves, the Little Library welcomes you.
Where to Find It
You'll find our Little Library nestled in the landscaped area at the intersection of Canterberry and Scarlett Oak. It's hard to miss and makes for a pleasant stop during your daily walk or drive through the neighborhood.
How It's Organized
We've arranged the library to serve readers of all ages. Adult books are on the top shelf, while children's books are on the bottom shelf, making it easy for young readers to browse their options.
We Need Your Help!
While we have a good collection of adult books to get started, we're currently looking for donations of children's books. If you have gently used picture books, early readers, or middle-grade novels that your children have outgrown, please consider sharing them with your neighbors. Every book donated helps spark a child's imagination and encourages a lifelong love of reading.
A Shared Responsibility
The success of our Little Library depends on all of us working together to keep it in good condition. Here's how you can help:
If you notice the door has been left open, please take a moment to close it securely to protect the books from weather damage. Should you spot any damage to the structure or have concerns about its condition, please reach out to the HOA president so we can address it promptly.
More Than Just Books
This Little Library represents something bigger than a box of books—it's a gathering point for our community, a way to connect with neighbors, and an opportunity to share the stories that have meant something to us. We hope it becomes a beloved neighborhood landmark that brings joy to residents of all ages.
So next time you're out for a walk, stop by and see what treasures await. Happy reading, Wildwood Hills Estates!
